ABOUT THE COURSE
INSTRUCTOR
This course is part of the five-module curriculum Understanding Girls: A Trauma Informed Perspective. The goal of the curriculum is to strengthen the work between foster parents and community partners with girls through changing the way providers, and caregivers, think and talk about girls.
Impact to the Caregiver is the third model in the curriculum. In this course, participants explore the importance of self-care and the consequences of not practicing it when working with traumatized girls. This includes managing stress appropriately using positive coping skills, understanding the risk factors of extreme stress, and prevention strategies that workers can implement to maintain healthy self-care.
