ABOUT THE COURSE
INSTRUCTOR
This course is part of the five-module curriculum Understanding Girls: A Trauma Informed Perspective. The goal of the curriculum is to strengthen the work between foster parents and community partners with girls through changing the way providers, and caregivers, think and talk about girls.
Module five in this course series focuses on psychosexual development and sexuality in girls. The purpose of this course is to provide participants with an overview of healthy sexual development and behaviors of girls.By understanding what is considered typical during various stages of development, participants can recognize atypical sexual behaviors in girls. Additional guiding principles to use when discussing and addressing sexual development and behaviors with girls in care are also provided.
