Derek Carter

Derek loves this agency and what it represents. As a previous foster care and adopted child, he has a passion for helping others, especially children and families. He attended Louisiana College for this undergraduate degree in Social Work. He also attended Louisiana State University for his graduate degree in Social Work. He has also been a IV-E intern with the agency. He is currently a Child Welfare Trainer and is involved in ensuring new workers as well as experienced workers have the knowledge and skills to ensure children and families are served with best practice. In his free time Derek plays electric guitar and teaches teenagers how to play.
