About the Course
This training aims to provide child welfare supervisors with information, strategies, and opportunities to practice skills to support child welfare workers in making competent decisions that ultimately impact children's safety, permanency, and well-being.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
Describe the three functions of a supervisor Identify and discuss the impact of drug abuse on a caretaker's ability to keep children safe
Explain the importance of using problem-based learning when staffing cases
Discuss how to give and receive feedback
Demonstrate the use of probing techniques to enhance the professional growth and development of staff
Demonstrate how to ensure that employees recognize signs of abuse and neglect
Identify their physical, emotional, and professional self-care needs
Explain the Department of Children and Family Services Child Welfare Policy Procedures, and Protocols relating to children's safety, permanency, and well-being.
