Mandatory Reporter Training
***If you completed the Mandated Reporter training on the LCWTA LMS between July 1 and July 31, 2025, your certificate is available in the My Certificates section of your account. You are also welcome to complete the new version of the Mandated Reporter training, which launched on August 1. Even if you have already completed the earlier version in July, you have the option to take the updated course at any time.*** Every day the safety and well-being of some children across Louisiana are threatened by child abuse and neglect. Mandated reporters play a crucial role in helping to keep children safe. Learning Objectives: - Recognize who is a mandated reporter and who is a permissive reporter - Understand the legal obligations of a mandated reporter - Make a report of suspected abuse and/or neglect to DCFS through either the Child Abuse Hotline or the Online Mandated Reporter Portal, and how to submit a follow-up report - Recognize the signs and symptoms of child abuse and neglect - Identify groups of children at higher risk for abuse/neglect - Apply techniques to use if a child discloses abuse or neglect to you

ACESS Mobile App Overview
The ACESS Mobile App is designed to provide enhanced functionality and an improved user experience for DCFS Child Welfare staff. This course will help users to become familiar with and to launch the ACESS Mobile App.  After completing this course, users will be able to prepare,  download and launch the ACESS Mobile App to state issued devices.   Users will also be aware the Features and Limitations of the App.

ACT 409 - Referrals to Law Enforcement
Course Description: This course will provide an overview of the new ACESS functionality related to Law Enforcement referrals, including: 1. Documenting required calls to Law Enforcement on Intakes with a disposition of Not Accepted Report – Refer to Law Enforcement; 2. Mailing functionality that generates and mails a cover letter and Intake Summary to Law Enforcement. All CPS staff, along with those responsible for CPS, are strongly encouraged to participate.

Agency and Criminal Record Clearances for Relative Caregivers
This training will focus on the process of completing an agency background clearance and will also provide staff with guidance related to reading criminal record results. Learning Objectives: - Distinguish which crimes prevent the agency from placing a child with a relative caregiver. - Provide guidance as it relates to which crimes require an assessment to place a child in the home. - Determine if valid history with the agency would prevent the agency from placing a child with a relative caregiver.
