Are you hosting a training that could benefit DCFS staff and foster parents? The Louisiana Child Welfare Training Academy (LCWTA), in partnership with DCFS, invites community organizations to share upcoming training opportunities with our network.
Benefits of Sharing Your Training
Reach DCFS staff and foster caregivers across the state
​Increase visibility for your organization's work
​Approved events may qualify for DCFS child welfare training credit (CW Training Credit) and Foster Parent Training Credit once attendance is verified
Foster Parent Training Credit and CW Training Credit hours are required by DCFS annually. Approved events for either type of training credit will encourage staff and foster caregivers to attend, potentially boosting participation in your event
What You Need to Know
Deadline
Submit requests at least 21 days before your event to allow time for confirmation, registration, and promotion
Request Review
All requests are reviewed to ensure alignment with child welfare learning policies and priorities
Approval Process
LCWTA reserves the right to determine which events qualify for training credit and are promoted
Event Cost
Events must be free for DCFS Staff and foster caregivers to qualify for Child Welfare or Foster Parent training credit

Your Role as Training Lead
If your request is approved, your organization will serve as the Designated Training Lead. As the Training Lead, your organization will:

Enter all training details into the system

Submit attendance records after the event

Ensure all requirements in the Designated Training Lead Guidelines are met
