Child maltreatment during infancy and childhood years has been shown to negatively affect child development, including brain and cognitive development, and can have lasting effects. Abuse and neglect also affect children and youth�s social and emotional development. This course will provide a brief introduction on basic child development, common milestones, and the impact of abuse/neglect on normal childhood development.
