In this course, participants will learn how the State of Louisiana is currently interpreting and implementing ICWA legislation in welfare cases.

Upon successful completion of training participants will be able to:
Describe the historical events that lead to the implementation of ICWA.
Explain how ICWA protects families and children of American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN).
Identify the current ICWA compliance standards for AI/AN child removal.
