About the Course

This course is a part of the "Foster Parent Training: An In-Depth Exploration of Advanced Topics. Trainings will provide in-depth discussion of topics relevant for providing developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, care for children involved with the child welfare system. 


Learning objectives:

  • Participants will be able to identify the key components of the Circle of Security intervention reviewed in this training.

  • Participants will be able to define attachment and give 3 examples of attachment behaviors observed in children.

  • Participants will be able to identify the difference between safe haven and secure base behaviors and give examples of each.

  • Participants will understand the impact of childhood maltreatment on behaviors discussed in this training.
