About the Course
This course is a part of the "Foster Parent Training: An In-Depth Exploration of Advanced Topics. Trainings will provide in-depth discussion of topics relevant for providing developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, care for children involved with the child welfare system.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will understand the basic concepts of power and control in intimate partner relationships.
Participants will be able to differentiate between tolerable and toxic stress and the impact that this has on child development.
Participants will understand ways that exposure to domestic violence impacts child behavior.
Participants will learn parenting skills to support children in their recovery from exposure to domestic violence.
