About the Course

Trainings will provide in-depth discussion of topics relevant for providing developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, care for children involved with the child welfare system.

1. Participants will be able to define trauma and give 3 examples of different types of traumatic experiences.
2. Participants will be able to identify key symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
3. Participants will understand the potential impact of childhood trauma on behavior.
4. Participants will be able to identify at least 2 evidence-based treatments for children who have experienced trauma.
