About the Course

This course is a part of the "Foster Parent Training: An In-Depth Exploration of Advanced Topics. Trainings will provide in-depth discussion of topics relevant for providing developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, care for children involved with the child welfare system. 


Learning objectives:

  • Participants will be able to define grief and identify key symptoms of grief in children and adolescents.

  • Participants will understand the differences between trauma and grief experiences.

  • Participants will be able to identify at least 2 evidence-based treatments for children who are experiencing grief and need intervention.
