The course is designed to provide new workers with a basic overview of the Family Team Meeting in child welfare.  Child welfare workers will be provided with practical tips on how to prepare for the FTM , who needs to be in attendance and what needs to be accomplished during this meeting. More in-depth information will be provided in future trainings.

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the purpose of the FTM and case workers responsibility in the FTM;

• Demonstrate an understanding of the goal that needs to be obtained by all involved team members 

• Demonstrate an understanding of the different participants in the FTM and their role

• Demonstrate an understanding of how to prepare your family and yourself for the FTM.
