What if I told you that you can make a difference in preventing suicide rates among
children and teens in Louisiana. Suicide rates throughout the United States are rising among children
and adolescents at a rapid growing pace. In this course, we will highlight the prevalence of suicide
among children and teens throughout Louisiana and provide you with skills to help intervene and
identify supports.

By the end of the training, the audience will be able to identify warning signs of suicide ideation for adolescent and youth and when to intervene.
Attendees will increase their overview knowledge of the impact of suicide on Louisiana population and of the common risk and protective factors of suicide.
Attendees will be knowledgeable of how to assess for the safety risk and developing safety plans with supports in the home.
Attendees will be aware of the resources available in Louisiana and how to access either telephonic or in-person crisis response teams in their local areas.
