About the Course

This course is a part of the "Foster Parent Training: An In-Depth Exploration of Advanced Topics. Trainings will provide in-depth discussion of topics relevant for providing developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, care for children involved with the child welfare system. 


Learning objectives:

  • Participants will be able to understand the importance of providing a developmentally appropriate narrative for children regarding life events or when life changes occur.

  • Participants will be able to identify who should provide the narratives and when they should occur based on the needs of the child.

  • Participants will be able to identify roadblocks to providing narratives as well as to identify how to address these roadblocks.
