Child Welfare Supervisor Support and Capacity Building Program Orientation
The orientation will consist of an overview of the Supervisor Support and Capacity Building Program (SSCBP) with specific attention on how to develop their personal learning and development plan (PLDP). The PLDP is designed specifically for the supervisor and will recommend competency development for continuous learning, growth and development. Participants will look at the difference in performance and developmental goals and will identify areas they would like to grow and develop, using the principles of practice competencies to develop their individual goals. The orientation will provide information about how the program is designed to provide support and capacity building through classroom training, coach/mentor program, CQI mentorship, support group and completion of their PLDP.

This course is designed to provide an overview to staff regarding childcare services, payments and education enrollment and transportation for active DCFS cases. Circle of Security: Being a Safe Haven and a Secure Base
This course is a part of the "Foster Parent Training: An In-Depth Exploration of Advanced Topics. Trainings will provide in-depth discussion of topics relevant for providing developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, care for children involved with the child welfare system. Learning objectives: Participants will be able to identify the key components of the Circle of Security intervention reviewed in this training. Participants will be able to define attachment and give 3 examples of attachment behaviors observed in children. Participants will be able to identify the difference between safe haven and secure base behaviors and give examples of each. Participants will understand the impact of childhood maltreatment on behaviors discussed in this training.

Community of Practice Series
The Community of Practice initiative is designed to help prepare student scholars, employee scholars, and graduated early career scholars for practice in the field of child welfare. It is our belief that social workers are uniquely positioned to practice in the field of child welfare. The Community of Practice initiative is composed of three distinct components: Live interactive sessions by distance technology to provide face-to-face contact and support, ongoing education and exposure to cutting edge practices, and ongoing support in a co-learning environment; Facilitation of mentor/mentee and supportive relationships through structured mentoring opportunities; and Creation of a dynamic knowledge base for access to resources and tools to assist the community with practicing in the field.

Completing and Submitting the 29A When Requesting a Clearance
This training is to provide DCFS Child Welfare Staff with guidance on how to complete and submit the 29-A when requesting a clearance. The CW Form 29-A is used to request a * Department of Children and Family Services ** (DCFS) State * Repository and/or State Central Registry ** Records (ACESS/TIPS) clearance for the following: Foster/adoptive parent applicants; All adult household members in the foster/adoptive parent applicant’s home; Adoption petition families; Private in and out of state child placing agencies; Potential caregivers * for a child in the custody of (DCFS); ** CASA volunteer applicants; Private adoptive families (Juvenile Court Judge); Safety monitor for a present or impending danger safety plan and, Foster child mentor, tutor and transportation provider applicants when an SCR clearance is required per policy.
