Preparing a CPS Worker Folder
This course is designed to assist CPS workers in preparing for their first case assignment by helping their prepare a work folder/bag with all of the necessary forms At the end of this training, participants will be able to: explain the purpose of having an organized field folder/folder; identify the common forms used by CPS and those they will need to include in their field folder/bag; and create their own field folder/bag.

Preschool Child Development: Ages 3-5
This workshop will provide critical information about warning signs which indicate a child is falling behind their peers and the impact of child abuse and neglect on their development. We will discuss how sexual abuse and parental behaviors like mental illness and substance abuse affect small children. Most importantly, you will be given many ideas and tools to help you help children get on the track to be healthy, bright, and secure while they are in your care. Become a life-changer for the young children whose lives you touch. Upon completion of this course, participants will: - Learn about the important milestones between 3-5 years old - Learn about the developmental effects of child abuse and neglect, parental substance abuse, family violence, sexual abuse, and mental illness. - Obtain tools to be used with foster children to set them up for success.

Beyond improving the quality and integrity of service provision, child welfare professionals will want to be knowledgeable about the code and ethical decision-making skills to protect themselves and their agencies from liability. The law can be ambiguous in many of the complex situations that arise in child welfare. This course provides the primary principles governing ethical decision-making. Trainees will be allowed time to review information to enhance their awareness of moral principles and be provided with opportunities to apply them. QIC WD: Case Review Instrument
This training is provided for the staff in the workforce development pilot parishes in order to share the case review instrument that is being used as part of the case record reviews. The purpose and importance of the case reviews to the research project is addressed. Each question is reviewed with an explanation regarding how the items are scored.
