Structured Decision Making: Core Concepts Training
The goal of this training is to provide an overview of assessing risk in child welfare using the evidence-based SDM� tools from the NCCD Children�s Research Center (CRC). The SDM Overview will provide clarification for the SDM household identification and information to accurately score the abuse and neglect index.

Suicide Prevention
What if I told you that you can make a difference in preventing suicide rates among children and teens in Louisiana. Suicide rates throughout the United States are rising among children and adolescents at a rapid growing pace. In this course, we will highlight the prevalence of suicide among children and teens throughout Louisiana and provide you with skills to help intervene and identify supports. By the end of the training, the audience will be able to identify warning signs of suicide ideation for adolescent and youth and when to intervene. Attendees will increase their overview knowledge of the impact of suicide on Louisiana population and of the common risk and protective factors of suicide. Attendees will be knowledgeable of how to assess for the safety risk and developing safety plans with supports in the home. Attendees will be aware of the resources available in Louisiana and how to access either telephonic or in-person crisis response teams in their local areas.

Supervisor Support Group 1: Compassion Fatigue and Secondary Traumatic Stress
During Session 1 of the CW SSCBP Support Group participants will focus on Compassion Fatigue and Secondary Traumatic Stress. Participants will explore their own self-care needs and have an opportunity to practice meditation with the loving kindness handout. As with other support groups, there will be time for peer support. Target Participants: New DCFS-Child Welfare Supervisors who have completed all 6 modules of Child Welfare Supervisor Support and Capacity Building Program.

Supervisor Support Group 2: Secondary Traumatic Stress Prevention Strategies
During Session 2 of the CW SSCBP Support group participants will focus on Secondary Traumatic Stress prevention strategies. Participants will explore different ways to build resilience in themselves and their staff. They will participate in a self-care assessment and discussions around their own self-care and ways to reduce stress. As with other support groups, there will be time for peer support. Target Participants: New DCFS-Child Welfare Supervisors who have completed all 6 modules of Child Welfare Supervisor Support and Capacity Building Program.

Supervisor Support Group 3: Working in Child Welfare During Covid-19
During Session 3 of the CW SSCBP Support Group participants will focus on the unique issues of working in Child Welfare during Covid-19. Participants will discuss the impact this had on them as well as their staff. There will be time to reflect on the grief and loss associated with Covid-19 and the pandemic. They will have an opportunity to discuss what they and their staff can do to take care of themselves. Lastly, they will explore how to move forward as we begin returning to �normal?. As with other support groups, there will be time for peer support. Target Participants: New DCFS-Child Welfare Supervisors who have completed all 6 modules of Child Welfare Supervisor Support and Capacity Building Program.

During Session 4 of the CW SSCBP Support Group participants will focus on Countertransference and Boundaries. They will complete a personal Traumatic Stress Scale and have an opportunity to discuss results and how to move forward. As with other support groups, there will be time for peer support. Target Participants: New DCFS-Child Welfare Supervisors who have completed all 6 modules of Child Welfare Supervisor Support and Capacity Building Program.
